Anime Zero: How to Play
Learn the objectives of Story, Infinite and Defend, then connect dungeon rewards to weapons, skill tokens, crafting and quest claims.
Anime Zero is a Roblox dungeon crawler: prepare weapons in the lobby, enter a mode, fight its encounters and bring rewards back into your upgrades. Story, Infinite and Defend have different objectives, so killing nearby enemies is only part of playing the selected mode correctly.
The gameplay below shows the tutorial, weapon switching and the return to the hub.
Follow the objective of your selected mode
Story sends you through encounter areas toward a final boss. Clear the room before trying to advance through its route. Infinite extends the fight across successive waves, putting more pressure on keeping abilities and positioning useful over time. Defend asks you to protect a target; enemies reaching that target can end the run even while your own character is still alive.
| Mode | Main objective | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Story | Clear the encounter route and final boss | Room completion and the next unlocked area |
| Infinite | Survive successive waves | Incoming enemies while skills recharge |
| Defend | Protect the defended target | Enemies approaching the objective |
For a first session, Story makes the route easiest to understand. Once its rooms feel familiar, choose another mode for its actual objective and reward preview rather than treating all queues as interchangeable.
Treat the lobby as preparation for the next run
Weapons provide your attack kit. Equip two so you can switch during combat, and learn the basic attacks and ability reach for both. Spins obtain weapons; upgrading the kit already equipped is another way to make progress without waiting for a rare pull.
XP leads to level gains and skill tokens. The skill tree has attack, critical, defense and speed branches, letting you address different problems in a run. Materials feed crafting and evolution. Crafting produces equipment, while evolution unlocks a weapon's ultimate when its requirements are met.
Collect rewards before choosing another goal
Quest objectives can advance while you clear ordinary encounters. Open the quest menu and claim completed rewards after returning to the lobby. Then decide whether your next goal is another Story act, materials for one recipe or learning a different mode.
Keep that goal specific. If a recipe requires a material, inspect the queue's reward preview and select the matching act. If the next boss repeatedly defeats you, spend earned tokens and practice its openings on a manageable difficulty. This connects what you do in combat to an upgrade you can actually use.
Use the beginner guide for a first-session route, or review ability rotation when cooldowns interrupt your attacks.
